A Full-Circle Project at Exactly the Right Time
Some projects feel like they’re meant to happen — and this one absolutely did.
These early albums from Gary’s Ezekiel 3:18 Band years mark the chapter when our first round of website work began.
I first worked with jazz saxophonist Gary Meggs more than a decade ago, back when my business was still called Anderson Web Design Group. I helped him with his artist website, kept things updated as he toured, and watched his music grow through the years.
Then life moved on for both of us. His old site eventually went offline, and we lost contact for a while.
Fast-forward to 2024.
Just as I was officially rebranding to WooWoo WebWorks, a message popped up from Gary:
“Hey, do you still build websites?”
Perfect timing.
Perfect full-circle moment.
And just like that, one of my earliest clients became the very first official client of WooWoo WebWorks.
What Gary Needed for This New Season
Embedded YouTube single for ‘Summer Samba,’ styled to blend seamlessly with the site’s design despite GoDaddy’s limited music-player options.
Gary was getting ready to release his holiday album, A Very Gary Christmas, and needed a fresh website that would:
Be easy for fans to use on any device
Let people listen to his music right away
Offer user-friendly “buy now” options
Direct listeners to their preferred streaming services
Share his work with the Iganga Community Brass Band in Uganda
Give him a place to add concerts, photos, and updates
Since he didn’t have an existing site anymore, we were building everything from scratch.
Building a Music Website That Works for Fans First
Working inside GoDaddy Website Builder meant I needed to get creative in a few areas — but we made every piece come together in a way that feels natural, clean, and easy to use.
Direct-to-fan digital album sales allow listeners to buy and download the Christmas album instantly — with all proceeds going directly to the artist.
Here's what the finished site includes:
Gary’s Music, All in One Place
His music now lives on one easy-to-browse page where each album and single is displayed with its artwork and linked directly to its YouTube playlist or video. His newest release, A Very Gary Christmas, also connects straight to the store so fans can purchase the digital version instanty — an excellent way for listeners to support his music while making sure the artist receives the full benefit.
Play the Music Right on the Website
Gary wanted fans to be able to listen to his new Christmas single as soon as they landed on the site.
Since GoDaddy doesn’t support every kind of music player, we used a high-quality YouTube version and built the page so it blends right in with the rest of the design.
Click → listen → done.
Custom streaming and social icons designed to match the site’s color palette, creating a cohesive, professional look across every page.
Instant Digital Album Downloads
Gary wanted people to be able to buy his music directly from him, not only through streaming services.
To do that, I set up a “Buy & Download” system on the site where fans can purchase the album and download it immediately.
No extra accounts required.
No confusing steps.
Just a smooth, direct way for fans to support the artist.
A sampling of the Uganda Music School page—originally a PDF Gary provided—recreated as a mobile-friendly stacked image gallery that mirrors the look and feel of the original document.
Custom Buttons for Streaming Services
Instead of the mismatched badges you usually see, I made a matching set of small icons for Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, and YouTube — all in his site’s colors.
It gives everything a more polished, professional look and makes the listening options easy to spot.
A Special Page for His Uganda Music Ministry
Gary wanted visitors to see the story of the Iganga Community Brass Band just as it appeared in the PDF he shared with me. Because GoDaddy doesn’t support displaying PDFs this way, I looked for a solution that kept both the heart and the layout intact. Converting the PDF into images and arranging them as a vertical gallery allowed the page to mirror the original design while still being easy to view on phones and tablets.
A Clean, Easy-to-Navigate Website That Fits His Music and His Mission
By launch day, Gary had a brand-new online home where people can:
Listen to his music
Buy his Christmas album
Follow him on their favorite streaming platform
Learn about his ministry work
View photos
Reach out about concerts or collaborations
Reconnecting with Gary after all those years — and right as a new chapter was unfolding for each of us — felt like one of those moments when God’s perfect timing speaks for itself.
